POSITION SUMMARY
The BIM Coordinator is responsible for managing, coordinating, and maintaining Building Information Models across all project disciplines. This role ensures model accuracy, enforces BIM standards, performs clash detection and resolution, and facilitates the extraction of project deliverables including drawings, Bills of Quantities (BOQs), and reports. The ideal candidate brings hands-on modelling experience and a deep understanding of BIM workflows in a multi-disciplinary construction or design environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Model Coordination & Accuracy
Develop, manage, and coordinate BIM models across architectural, structural, MEP, and other disciplines to ensure consistency and accuracy throughout the project lifecycle.
Establish and enforce BIM standards, protocols, and naming conventions in accordance with the BIM Execution Plan (BEP).
Conduct regular model audits and quality checks to ensure compliance with project requirements and industry standards (e.g., ISO 19650).
Ensure that all federated models are properly referenced, aligned, and up to date before each coordination milestone.
Clash Detection & Resolution
Perform clash detection analysis using tools such as Navisworks, ACC, Solibri Model Checker on a regular basis.
Generate detailed clash detection reports with categorised issues, severity levels, and recommended resolutions.
Coordinate with design teams to resolve clashes and track resolution progress through to completion.
Facilitate clash resolution meetings and document outcomes, action items, and deadlines.
Drawings, BOQs & Deliverables
Extract and produce accurate 2D drawings, sections, elevations, and details from BIM models for construction documentation.
Generate Bills of Quantities (BOQs) and material schedules directly from the model using quantity take-off tools and workflows.
Prepare and distribute regular BIM deliverables including progress reports, model status updates, and coordination summaries.
Support the production of 4D (scheduling) and 5D (cost estimation) outputs where required.
Collaboration & Communication
Act as the primary point of contact for all BIM-related queries across project teams, subcontractors, and consultants.
Coordinate model sharing and data exchange via Common Data Environments (CDE) such as ACC, Trimble Connect, or Aconex.
Train and mentor team members on BIM tools, workflows, and standards as needed.
Liaise with the BIM Manager to implement best practices and continuous improvement initiatives.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
Education
Bachelor’s degree in architecture, Civil Engineering, Mechanical, Electrical, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
Professional BIM certifications (e.g., Autodesk Certified Professional, buildingSMART certification, BSI) are highly desirable.
Experience
Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience working with BIM models in a coordination or modelling role on construction or infrastructure projects.
Demonstrated experience in clash detection, reporting, and resolution workflows.
Proven track record of extracting BOQs, drawings, and reports from BIM models for project delivery.
Technical Skills
Proficiency in Autodesk Revit (Architecture, Structure, and/or MEP) is essential.
Strong working knowledge of Navisworks Manage for clash detection and model review.
Experience with AutoCAD, BIM 360 / Autodesk Construction Cloud, and Common Data Environments.

Soft Skills
Excellent attention to detail with a strong commitment to model accuracy and data integrity.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills for cross-disciplinary coordination.
Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet tight deadlines, and work under pressure.
Problem-solving mindset with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience with 4D scheduling integration (e.g., Synchro, Primavera) and 5D cost modelling.
Familiarity with GIS integration, point cloud data processing, or digital twin platforms.
Working knowledge of ISO 19650 information management standards.
Experience on large-scale commercial, residential, or infrastructure projects.
