Planning/4D-5D Engineer

The Planning/4D-5D Engineer supports the Planning Manager in delivering schedule management and integrates BIM models with programme data to provide visual 4D simulations and cost-loaded 5D outputs for project reporting and stakeholder communication.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing and updating the construction programme in Primavera P6 or MS Project

  • Build and maintain 4D simulations linking the BIM model to the construction programme

  • Support 5D cost-loading of the programme by integrating schedule with quantity and cost data

  • Prepare weekly and monthly progress updates, lookaheads, and schedule narratives

  • Coordinate with BIM and design teams to ensure model data is schedule-ready

  • Assist in subcontractor programme review and integration into the master schedule

  • Identify and escalate scheduling risks and potential clashes to the Planning Manager

  • Maintain planning registers, baseline records, and change logs

  • Support the production of planning outputs for client presentations and progress meetings

  • Contribute to continuous improvement of digital planning tools and workflows

Required Skills & Competencies

  • Proficiency in Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project

  • Experience with 4D simulation tools (Navisworks TimeLiner, Synchro, or equivalent)

  • Working knowledge of BIM software (Revit, Navisworks) for model coordination

  • Understanding of 5D cost management principles and quantity take-off

  • Strong data management and Excel skills for schedule tracking

  • Familiarity with construction sequencing and site logistics planning

  • Good communication skills for cross-discipline coordination

  • Exposure to CDE platforms (Autodesk Construction Cloud, Asite, or equivalent)
