Quality Engineer – Mechanical/PHE/Fire
The Quality Engineer (Mechanical/PHE/Fire) manages quality assurance and control activities for all mechanical, public health engineering, and fire protection systems on the data centre construction site, ensuring works comply with specifications, standards, and client requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Implement and manage ITPs for mechanical, PHE, and fire protection installation activities
Conduct site inspections at hold and witness points for mechanical systems, pipework, and fire protection
Raise and manage NCRs for mechanical, PHE, and fire scope, driving timely closure
Review subcontractor method statements and quality plans for mechanical works
Manage material submittals and approval processes for mechanical equipment and materials
Witness and record pressure tests, flushing, and disinfection activities for pipework systems
Maintain quality records for mechanical, PHE, and fire systems in the CDE
Support factory acceptance testing (FAT) for critical mechanical plant and equipment
Liaise with the mechanical design team on RFIs and technical deviations
Contribute to punch list inspections and handover documentation for mechanical systems
Required Skills & Competencies
Strong knowledge of mechanical, PHE, and fire protection installation quality requirements
ITP management experience for pipework, HVAC, and fire suppression systems
Familiarity with pressure testing standards, flushing protocols, and L8 compliance requirements
Experience with NCR management in formal QMS environments
Knowledge of relevant EN, ISO, and NFPA standards for mechanical and fire systems
Proficiency with CDE platforms and document control for quality records
Ability to read and interpret mechanical schematics, P&IDs, and fire protection drawings
Good coordination skills across MEP interfaces and subcontractor teams
