Site Manager – Fire

The Site Manager (Fire) supervises all fire protection system installations on the data centre construction site, including sprinklers, gaseous suppression, fire detection, and alarm systems, ensuring compliance with design, standards, and the project programme.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily fire protection installation activities including sprinkler systems, gaseous suppression (FM200, Novec, CO2), fire detection, and alarm systems

  • Coordinate with the MEPF Construction Manager on fire systems programme and resource allocation

  • Review and ensure compliance of fire protection works with approved drawings, specifications, and local fire codes

  • Manage fire systems subcontractor performance and quality on site

  • Conduct and sign off on ITPs and witness points for fire protection installations

  • Raise and track fire systems RFIs through the CDE

  • Coordinate fire protection/MEP interfaces to prevent installation clashes

  • Ensure HSE compliance for fire systems installation, including handling of suppression agents

  • Maintain accurate installation records, material deliveries, and photographic documentation

  • Support pre-commissioning, commissioning, and third-party fire authority inspections

Required Skills & Competencies

  • Strong experience in fire protection system installation including sprinklers, gaseous suppression, and FD&A

  • Knowledge of EN 12845, NFPA 13, EN 54, and data centre-specific fire suppression standards

  • Ability to read and interpret fire protection drawings, schematics, and hydraulic calculations

  • ITP sign-off and quality inspection experience for fire systems

  • Familiarity with local fire authority approval processes and third-party inspection requirements

  • Good knowledge of HSE requirements specific to fire suppression agent handling

  • Coordination skills across MEP, CSA, and commissioning interfaces

  • Experience with BIM viewers for clash review and installation verification
