The Site Manager (Mechanical) supervises and coordinates all mechanical installation works on the data centre construction site, including HVAC, cooling systems, plumbing, and associated mechanical plant, ensuring quality, programme compliance, and safe delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily mechanical installation activities on site including HVAC, chiller plant, cooling towers, and plumbing systems

  • Coordinate with the MEPF Construction Manager on programme, resource allocation, and work sequencing

  • Review and verify compliance of mechanical works with approved drawings, specifications, and method statements

  • Manage mechanical subcontractor performance, attendance, and productivity on site

  • Conduct and sign off on ITPs, witness points, and pressure testing for mechanical systems

  • Raise and track mechanical RFIs through the CDE

  • Coordinate mechanical/electrical and mechanical/civil interfaces to prevent clashes and delays

  • Enforce HSE requirements for mechanical installation activities including confined spaces and COSHH

  • Maintain daily records, material delivery logs, and photographic progress documentation

  • Support pre-commissioning and commissioning activities for mechanical systems

Required Skills & Competencies

  • Strong hands-on experience with mechanical systems installation in construction environments

  • Knowledge of HVAC, chilled water, cooling tower, and precision cooling systems relevant to data centres

  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, schematics, and P&IDs

  • ITP management and quality sign-off experience for mechanical works

  • Familiarity with BIM coordination tools for mechanical clash review

  • Good knowledge of HSE requirements for mechanical plant installation

  • Experience with pre-commissioning pressure testing and flushing procedures

  • Strong coordination skills with electrical, CSA, and commissioning teams
