Shreenidhi Hungund, Co-Founder of Desapex, recently delivered a keynote session at HKBK Group of Institutions on the topic, “Applications of CFD in Solving Heat Transfer Problems.” Hosted by the Department of Mechanical Engineering from May 4–9, the session explored how Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) is becoming a critical enabler for modern infrastructure, especially as hyperscale data centers and digital facilities continue to expand globally. The keynote emphasized how CFD is no longer limited to simulation-based analysis, but is now central to designing efficient, resilient, and sustainable built environments.

During the session, Shreenidhi highlighted how advanced CFD strategies are helping organizations solve complex thermal challenges across mission-critical facilities. The discussion focused on optimizing airflow to prevent hotspots in hyperscale environments, integrating liquid cooling systems for high-density server racks, improving energy efficiency through reduced PUE (Power Usage Effectiveness), and using predictive thermal analysis to identify operational risks before they impact real-world performance. The session also showcased how digital engineering and thermal intelligence are reshaping the future of infrastructure design and operations.

In addition to the keynote, Shreenidhi attended the event as Chief Guest for the inauguration of the value-added course on CFD Analysis & Heat Transfer. The interaction with aspiring mechanical engineers centered around emerging career opportunities in digital engineering, the growing demand for specialized CFD expertise, and the evolving role of thermal engineering in enabling future-ready infrastructure.
