Introduction
Hi, I’m Abhishek Hiremath, currently working as a Digital Design Manager at Desapex. Over the past two and a half years, I’ve been focused on driving innovation and improving efficiency across projects. With a background in Industrial and Production Management, I enjoy solving complex challenges through smart design and teamwork.
Right now, I’m based in Sweden, where I continue to support global projects and collaborate with teams across different time zones. What I enjoy most about my role is the variety whether it’s learning something new, solving technical issues, or helping teams stay aligned and deliver great results. I thrive in fast-paced environments and always bring adaptability, curiosity, and a collaborative mindset to the table.

Personal Journey
I grew up in Hubli, Karnataka, where curiosity and problem-solving were part of everyday life. I completed my schooling and PUC there, followed by a degree in Industrial and Production Management from BVB Engineering College, Hubli. Growing up in a modest, hardworking family that valued education and self-reliance, I was encouraged to be curious and find solutions rather than complain about problems. That mindset of taking initiative and staying grounded has stayed with me ever since.
As a kid, I was always drawn to things that sparked curiosity and creativity. I loved collecting stamps and coins, fascinated by the stories they carried from different places and times. It was my way of exploring the world beyond my hometown. I also spent hours sketching and doodling sometimes just for fun, sometimes to bring ideas to life visually. That creative streak still sticks with me today and often helps me think outside the box when approaching everyday challenges.
After finishing college, there was a phase where I wasn’t sure what direction to take. I saw friends moving ahead quickly, and I felt stuck. That period taught me patience and the importance of trusting my own pace. I learned that clarity doesn’t always come instantly it builds slowly through action and reflection.
One quote that’s always stayed with me is: “Do what you can, with what you have, where you are.” For me, it’s more than just words it’s a way of living. Growing up in Hubli, I didn’t always have access to the latest tools or resources, but I learned to make the most of what was around me. Whether it was solving everyday problems at home, helping friends, or figuring things out on my own, I found satisfaction in doing my best with what I had. This philosophy reminds me that progress doesn’t need perfect conditions it just needs effort, intention, and a bit of creativity. It’s helped me stay grounded, be more patient with myself, and appreciate the small wins that come from simply showing up and trying.

Professional Path
I began my career in 2015 as a BIM Engineer, fresh out of college. It was my first professional role and a gateway into the world of digital construction. Early on, I had the opportunity to work directly on-site, which gave me a firsthand understanding of how construction actually unfolds the complexities, the coordination challenges, and the fast-paced decision-making required. Working on-site showed me that BIM isn’t just about creating models it’s a practical tool that helps teams make faster, smarter decisions and navigate the complexities of construction with more confidence.
Before joining Desapex, I also spent time working in HVAC design, which added another layer to my technical understanding and broadened my perspective on building systems and services. Each role helped me build a more holistic view of the AEC industry and deepened my appreciation for how technology can bridge gaps between design and execution.
In 2022, I joined Desapex, and it’s been one of the most rewarding decisions of my career. The company’s forward-thinking approach and emphasis on innovation aligned perfectly with my own mindset. Since then, I’ve taken on diverse challenges, grown into a leadership role, and contributed to building smarter, more collaborative, and future-ready design processes.
To further strengthen my ability to lead and deliver projects effectively, I also completed my PMP (Project Management Professional) certification. It’s helped me bring more structure, clarity, and strategic thinking to the way I manage teams, timelines, and outcomes especially in fast-moving, multidisciplinary environments.
Role at Desapex
As a Digital Design Manager at Desapex, I lead BIM coordination across multidisciplinary teams, ensuring that design workflows are efficient, accurate, and aligned with project goals. I actively participate in project meetings, representing the digital design team and addressing technical challenges, model discrepancies, and coordination issues in real time.
My role is both strategic and hands-on I work closely with design and engineering teams to streamline processes, improve model quality, and drive collaboration between stakeholders. My time on-site gave me a clear view of how design impacts construction in real time. It taught me to approach digital workflows with a practical mindset one that prioritizes clarity, coordination, and real-world outcomes.
I’ve helped implement structured review systems, reduce coordination errors, and improve delivery timelines. I focus on resolving issues quickly and keeping teams aligned to ensure smooth project execution.
Unique Qualities and Superpowers
I try to approach every challenge with a calm and solution-focused mindset. Whether it’s resolving coordination issues or guiding the team through a tight deadline, I focus on keeping things clear and moving forward.
Over time, I’ve learned that thoughtful changes whether in planning, communication, or execution can make a meaningful difference in how a project unfolds. I try to carry that mindset into every discussion, focusing on clarity and practical solutions.
More than anything, I believe in being approachable and dependable someone the team can count on when things get tricky.
A Typical Day at Desapex
My day usually starts by checking my calendar and planning tasks around scheduled meetings and project priorities. I review any new design files shared by subcontractors and make sure everything is organized and aligned with project standards.
Most of my time is spent coordinating digital models from different teams architecture, structure, MEP, and civil ensuring everything works together smoothly. I track issues, follow up with the right people, and help keep things moving without delays.
I join regular meetings to share updates, highlight concerns, and support the team with design-related queries. I also help team members access the latest drawings and models, making sure everyone is working with the most current information.
Throughout the day, I check the quality of the models, prepare progress reports, and assist colleagues with design tools and project standards. My focus is on keeping things clear, consistent, and collaborative.
Outside of work, I try to maintain a steady balance. A calm start to the morning and short breaks during the day help me stay focused. I’ve found that small routines make a big difference in managing both work and personal life.
Why Desapex?
I chose Desapex because of its clear focus on innovation and its commitment to transforming how the built environment is designed and delivered. The company’s approach to digital design and technology-driven workflows aligned perfectly with my own interests and experience.
What I appreciate most about the culture here is the openness and trust. Everyone is encouraged to take ownership, share ideas, and contribute meaningfully regardless of their role or background. It’s a collaborative environment where learning is continuous and support is always available.
Desapex has played a key role in my professional growth. I’ve had the opportunity to take on new challenges, expand my skill set, and grow into a leadership role. At the same time, the flexibility and understanding within the team have helped me maintain a healthy balance between work and personal life.

Personal Touch
Outside of work, I enjoy bike riding it’s a great way to clear my head and reset. I’m also a fan of sci-fi movies and sitcoms. Whether it’s exploring futuristic worlds or unwinding with light-hearted humor, it helps me recharge after a busy day.
One quote I often come back to is: “Clarity breeds confidence.” It’s a simple reminder that when things are well understood, decisions become easier and progress feels natural.
Fun fact: I tend to rewatch my favorite sitcoms more than I care to admit. There’s something comforting about knowing exactly when the punchline is coming. I also enjoy collecting die-cast cars there’s something timeless about the craftsmanship and detail that makes each piece feel like a miniature work of art.

Impact and Future Aspirations
As the industry continues to evolve, I see my role expanding beyond coordination into shaping how teams adopt and integrate digital workflows more effectively. I want to contribute to building systems that not only solve technical problems but also improve collaboration and decision-making across project teams.
At Desapex, my goal is to keep growing as a leader mentoring others, refining processes, and helping the company stay ahead in digital delivery. I’m especially interested in exploring how data-driven design and automation can enhance project outcomes and reduce inefficiencies.
Looking ahead, I hope to play a part in scaling Desapex’s impact whether through developing smarter workflows, supporting new talent, or helping clients navigate the shift toward more integrated and sustainable design practices.
